Common Heat Press Issues & How to Fix Them

• My transfer isn’t sticking completely — what went wrong? +

  This usually happens due to low pressure or not enough heat.
  
  ✅ Solution: Make sure your heat press is set to 300–320°F and apply firm, even pressure for 12–15 seconds. Always pre-press your garment for 5 seconds to remove moisture.

• The edges of the print are lifting after peeling — how do I fix it? +

  This is often caused by peeling too early.
  
  ✅ Solution: Allow the transfer to cool completely before peeling. If any edges still lift, press again with a Teflon sheet for 5–7 seconds.

• The print feels too thick or rubbery—is that normal? +

  Not always. It might be caused by over-pressing or double layering.
  
  ✅ Solution: Avoid pressing longer than 15 seconds and don’t double press unless you're doing a finishing press. Use medium pressure and skip overdoing it.

• Why does my design look faded after washing? +

  Improper application or incorrect wash care can cause this.
  
  ✅ Solution: Make sure you're pressing at the right temperature and time. For washing: always turn garments inside out, use cold water, and avoid harsh detergents or bleach.

• Can I use a heat press with uneven pressure or worn plates? +

  Uneven plates can lead to patchy transfers.
  
  ✅ Solution: Use a flat, even-surface heat press. If your machine has hot or cold spots, try testing with a heat strip or contact us for pressing tips that work even on older machines.
